Things to note when disassembling and assembling hydraulic cylinders
(1) Before disassembling the hydraulic cylinder, the hydraulic circuit should be relieved of pressure. Otherwise, when the oil pipe joint connected to the oil cylinder is loosened, the high-pressure oil in the circuit will spray out quickly. When depressurizing the hydraulic circuit, you should first loosen the handwheel or pressure regulating screw on the relief valve, etc. to unload the pressure oil, and then cut off the power supply or power source to stop the hydraulic device.
(2) When disassembling, prevent damage to the piston rod top thread, oil port thread, piston rod surface, cylinder liner inner wall, etc. In order to prevent slender parts such as piston rods from bending or deforming, they should be supported and balanced by spacers when placed.
(3) Disassembly should be carried out in order. Since various hydraulic cylinders have different structures and sizes, the disassembly sequence is also slightly different. Generally, the oil in both chambers of the cylinder should be drained, then the cylinder head should be disassembled, and finally the piston and piston rod should be disassembled. When disassembling the cylinder head of a hydraulic cylinder, special tools must be used for the keys or snap rings of the internal key-type connection. It is prohibited to use a flat shovel; the flange-type end cover must be ejected with screws, and hammering or hard prying is not allowed. When the piston and piston rod are difficult to pull out, do not force them out. The cause should be found out before disassembly.
(4) Before and after unloading, try to create conditions to prevent the parts of the hydraulic cylinder from being contaminated by surrounding dust and impurities. For example, disassembly should be carried out in a clean environment as much as possible; after disassembly, all parts should be covered with plastic cloth, not cotton or other work cloths.
(5) After the cylinder is disassembled, it is necessary to carefully inspect it to determine which parts can continue to be used, which parts can be repaired and reused, and which parts must be replaced.
(6) All parts must be cleaned carefully before assembly.
(7) Sealing devices must be installed correctly. ① When installing the O-ring, do not pull it to the point of permanent deformation, and do not assemble it while rolling, otherwise it may become twisted and cause oil leakage. ② When installing Y-shaped and V-shaped sealing rings, pay attention to their installation direction to avoid oil leakage due to installation. For the y-shaped sealing ring, its lip should face the pressure oil chamber; in addition, the yx-shaped sealing ring should be distinguished whether it is for the shaft or the hole, and do not install it incorrectly. The V-shaped sealing ring is composed of a support ring, a sealing ring and a pressure ring with different shapes. When the pressure ring presses the sealing ring, the support ring can deform the sealing ring and act as a seal. When installing, the opening of the sealing ring should face the pressure oil chamber; when adjusting the pressure ring, it should be limited to no oil leakage and should not be pressed too tight to prevent excessive sealing resistance. ③ If the sealing device matches the sliding surface, an appropriate amount of hydraulic oil should be applied during assembly. ④ All the disassembled O-rings and dust-proof rings should be replaced with new ones.
(8) A special wrench should be used when tightening threaded connections, and the torque should comply with standard requirements.
(9) After the piston and piston rod are assembled, it is necessary to measure whether their coaxiality and straightness over the entire length are out of tolerance.
(10) After assembly, the piston assembly should move without any sense of blockage or uneven resistance.
(11) When the hydraulic cylinder is installed on the main engine, a sealing ring must be added between the inlet and outlet joints and tightened to prevent oil leakage.
(12) After assembly as required, several reciprocating movements should be performed under low pressure to eliminate gas in the cylinder.
